Console
UI/UX, Product Design of Console back-office by Zerodha.
Trading is similar to being a professional athlete. Traders need to go through their trades, statements, analyse reports, and everything to make better decisions. Back-office like Zerodha Console provides all that.
In designing Console back-office objective was to provide easy to understand information about the users's trades and investment. Through Data visualisations, finding pattern in their trades, updates about their investments, accounting, taxes, etc all at one place.
Assumption was that most of the users of Kite would be using this backoffice, still focusing on 2 main type users who want to see their data. Long term investors - who holds their positions for medium to long term. Might visit once a week to check on their holdings. Day traders - who want to dig deep into their trades, want to know about the charges and true P&L. Frequency of visit can be every day at the end. Assumption was that both the users above will be more active on Tax seasons and Financial year ends.
A single person can have multiple Portfolios. Long term, short term, specific to any goals. Personally I used to use different bank accounts to organise my finances better. With Tags investor can mark each and every trade for their goals or organising their portfolio. All at one place.
Professionals take hundreds of trade everyday, each trade has so much important data, we needed an easy to understand way to provide them this data. Data visualisations like Heatmaps of profit and loss, number of trades, breakdown of their trades in charts was useful.
